It has been a rough few weeks, what with losing a family friend and our cat. All these things lead to the point of do it now! I know one can’t live life like it’s your last day, as it’s just not possible. But I have come round to the idea that one should make the attempt to get the best out of the day that one can. Even in some cases that may just be getting out of bed. But I think that maybe that is getting just a bit too deep.

One of the thoughts during the journey down to the West Country was the sense of belonging. And where that place is. I really missed seeing the sea. Which where we were, was never far away. Living in the middle of the country, pretty much as we do. It always seems such a trek to get to it. But for me there’s something primal about seeing it and the power that is has on us and the land around this island.

For a moment I was seduced but the rolling hills of the Mendips and Quantocks and the snatched views of the English Channel. But then roaming around, the sheer volume of sprawling estates hugging the sea fronts was hard to see. At heart, I think I am a country boy, and the idea of masses of people around me is sometimes a struggle. You can probably take that with a little bit of salt. As I worked and lived in London for quite some time. But now in the later years, quiet and calmness are much more appealing.

This brings me round to the point of where I want, well, where I would like my plot to be. One can get hung up on a whole list of criteria. Much like those property shows I used to watch. “Home in the Country”? But ultimately as I am going to build my own house it really doesn’t matter. I have a starting point of where I am thinking of looking. But I really can say for sure where it is. As usually life has a way of guiding us. What matters more is finding the right plot of land. And that, at the moment, is something I am extremely inexperienced at.

But as that is some way off, I don’t have to worry about that. But an important factor in this is knowledge and education. That is something I can gather along the way.

Talking of moving along I have finally got this website tamed to point I want it. It has been a bit of a steep learning curve here too. But I am happy with the look and operation of it. I am currently wrestling with getting the email list side of things sorted out. But I am relying on help docs and YouTube videos to guide me through. Hopefully I can get that sorted in next couple of days. Even if no one uses it :) I am building that little bit better. The next episode of Podcast will be out tomorrow and I know its meant to be a complete failure if you don’t smash out the first ten like a metronome. But, hey life doesn’t work out in the way we want it to sometimes. This is very much a Marathon, not a sprint. I am inching my way forward at this time. So I know may not be great for the analytics, but I will get better. That’s the fun part for me!

Thanks for reading. And until the next exciting installment…
